Baba
Kartar Singh Samparda/Chowk Mehta Samparda cont'd
In conclusion it can be stated that Samparda
Chowk Mehta is no more than an offshoot of Nirmala
tradition and is one of the many ‘Shakha’
(branches) of the great Akali Nihang Guru Gobind
Singh-established ‘Dam Dami Taksal’,
and not THE Dam Dami Taksal as they would have
us believe. The venerable 'Brahmgiani'
Baba Inder Singh Ji, who puts 'Baba
Kartar Singh Samparda' in proper perspective
states:
‘After the
passing of Sant Baba Gurbachan Singh his
one student Giani Kartar Singh made a place
at village Mehta (Amritsar), and to his
death he did preaching of Sikhism.
After his death in his place Giani Jarnail
Singh at present there is doing this service.’

Giani, Appendix Pa.237
Baba Kartar Singh
Founder of the 'Baba Kartar Singh Samparda',
also known popularly as 'Dam Dami Taksal'
Hence Samparda Baba Kartar Singh, being a ‘Giani
Shakha’ of Dam Dama should be
given full veneration and respect for its tradition
of ‘Santhia’ (teaching
correct reading of Sikh scripture). In addition,
this Samparda has complete faith in Dasam Guru
Durbar as being the complete work of Akali Nihang
Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
