Nangs cont'd
A further issue that has to be highlighted is that
ALL those Sikhs who are not Nihangs
by action, tradition, attitude or the wisdom they possess, but,
instead dress up as Nihangs to mislead people are also
considered Nangs.
Many such fakes now exist and have convinced people
they are Nihang Singhs. However, they are but fools, deceiving themselves,
and those around them.
There are also many man-made personality cults such
as the Akhand
Kirtani Jatha (A.K.J.), self-proclaimed Sants (saints),
and their followers, that have adopted the Akali Nihang Singh uniform
and (wrongly) claimed it as their own. This is a feeble attempt
to appeal to people to gain new recruits. They in the most part
do not even understand the origins of the uniform let alone its
significance.
Some such groups have even accused
the Akali Nihang Khalsa of not being true to history in order to
keep the limelight away from their own hypocrisy and cult status.
Even many militant, fundamentalist, fanatic groups
that have nothing to do with the Sanatan Akali
Nihang Singh Khalsa, such as the Babbar Khalsa International
(B.K.I.) who are the militant wing of the A.K.J., have also adopted
this same image of the Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa. The followers
of such movements are frequently depicted adorning the Akali Nihang
uniform.
These same individuals insult and ridicule the very
knowledge that brings about the uniform, heritage and traditions
themselves. This section has caused an uproar from the groups guilty
of being Nangs. However, this is inevitable as
the truth will only hurt those individuals who are living a life
entwined with hypocrisy, lies and confusion.
In the eyes of the Sanatan Sikhs, and especially
the Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa, these people are in fact seen as
even lower than Nangs, as they insult the very wisdom itself.
These personality cults, and self-proclaimed Sants
are now sadly gaining the most members, both in India, and around
the world under various names and guises.
