Nihang Niddar Singh
The present day Sanatan Sikh Shastar Vidiya Gurdev (master)
of the Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa Baba Durbara Singh Akhara (to read

The warrior Gurdev Ji explained that ultimately Naam
Simran is a gift of God to man. Though amongst the warrior Khalsa
it begins with Nitnem, Naam Simran is not necessarily
a set method/process for all. People of different faiths have different
perception of method of salvation.
Ultimately however, Naam Simran is that what
pleases Nirankar God. It is God's grace that grants salvation,
and we can but prepare ourselves to receive it. For just as in a
defiled vessel we will not put spiritual life-giving Amrit (Ambrosia),
so too, God will not put his Amrit in the minds and hearts of defiled
individuals:
‘A Manmukh [Man who does not acknowledge
God/Guru] tires repeating Har Har but his defilement is not
removed.
With a defiled mind one can not have devotion to God one will
not attain Naam.’
('Adi Guru Durbar', Siri Raag Mahalla 3)
After first focusing and purifying the mind of the
malady of ego by humbling oneself before Almighty Ekh, only then
can the fruit of the sacred Sikh mantra (chant) of Va-eh
Guru be attained fully. The Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa teach
Mantra Jaap (contemplation of Va-eh Guru) exists
at three levels:
1. At beginner level, to recite Mantra (Va=eh Guru)
loudly, slowly, and clearly with proper pronunciation.
2. Second level, the Mantra is now recited in mouth to the 'self'.
3. Finally, the true level of Mantra Jaap is to recite it loudly
as possible in mind.
It is believed the sacred Mantra thus resounds in
mind, and produces a ‘Trang/ Lehr’,
meaning 'a wave of divine cosmic energy' that focuses, purifies
and strengthens the mind. Thus, one prepares it to receive divine
knowledge of Gurmat (Guru’s thinking).
The One
At the higher level of spirituality, one begins to realise
that the flame of the Almighty resides within all of creation
